Between 18-22 February 2018, the promotional and information campaign entitled “European Poultry – The Power of Quality” marked its presence at the renowned GULFOOD 2018 Fair held at the World Trade Centre in Dubai. The campaign was also a Silver Sponsor of the event. Its participation in the fair was one of a number of activities carried out as part of the campaign aimed at promoting European poultry produced according to the QAFP quality system.
The GULFOOD fair has been immensely popular, setting new records year by year. In 2018, 4,237 companies from 92 countries exhibited at Gulfood, while the fair was visited by nearly 100,000 guests. This year’s twenty-third Gulfood fair focused on innovation in 8 different sectors, including poultry. High-quality QAFP-certified poultry fit the idea behind the fair perfectly. The campaign presented some of its benefits such as the use of the latest technological solutions, looking after animal welfare and facilitating production in line with the principles of Halal.
The organiser of the campaign is the Polish trade association of poultry farmers and producers – the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce. Representatives of the Poultry Council were present at the “European Poultry – The Power of Quality” booth, accompanied by campaign experts and representatives of renowned European companies from the poultry production sector. All visitors were able to obtain in-depth information at the booth about the possibility of importing European poultry to the UAE market and other Persian Gulf states. Discussions on the QAFP system met with great interest.
The GULFOOD 2018 fair also featured discussion panels, in which the campaign experts and other delegates participated actively. We hope that they will result in establishing new business relations and increasing the awareness of the quality of European poultry among poultry importers, distributors and others in order to build its positive image. An interesting meeting with the authorities of the Dubai Municipality – an administrative unit responsible for import of food products to UAE through Dubai – also took place at the booth.
Visitors also enjoyed daily culinary presentations at the booth and were able to taste European QAFP-certified poultry anytime to assess its great taste.
Participation of the campaigners in the GULFOOD 2018 fair proved to be a perfect opportunity to exchange experiences of the poultry market and to build positive relationships with professionals working on that market, representatives of public authorities and the media.
